Minister
David J. Pharr began working with the Concord Street congregation in August of 2022. He and his wife, Amber, have 4 awesome kids—Kherington, Lukas, Linkoln, and Crockett. David and Amber met at Freed-Hardeman University in Henderson, TN. Amber is from Kentucky and is a work-from-home mom as an online teacher and an executive assistant. David is originally from South Carolina. David is a third-generation gospel preacher who has ministered at congregations in South Carolina, Tennessee, and now Florida.
David graduated from Freed-Hardeman in 2006 with his B.A. in Bible. He also holds two Masters degrees, an M.A. in Religion from Liberty University and an M.Div. from Freed-Hardeman University.
In preaching, David’s main goal is to be Biblically balanced and culturally relevant. He strives to share God’s Word with truth, clarity, and passion. His favorite books of the Bible are the Gospel of John and the letter to the Hebrews. The Gospel of John provides for a deep dive into the person and power of Jesus and is written in such a way that gives endless opportunities for exploration. In the book of Hebrews, he finds a presentation of Jesus unlike anywhere else in Scripture that weaves the Old Testament into the ministry and salvation of Jesus.
David enjoys spending time with his wife and kids, running for miles and miles, and all things to do with the University of Tennessee Volunteers.
